I’m Doing Something Right

It is said when you are doing what you should be doing to the best of your ability, then blessing will be bestowed upon you.  When my Mom agreed to come on board and blog with me, supporting Senator Obama’s candidacy and trying to navigate the art of the possible, I knew that what I am doing has some merit.  Thanks, Mom!

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Our nation (and world) is in an economic, political, environmental and health crisis to say the least.  Each of these issues is an area of great concern to each of us.  Whether we are building our lives and careers, in the mid-life category, or ending our careers, the state of the economy and national health directly impacts each of us.  No one person, with title of president or without, can fix what ails us; however, the person in the White House in January will certainly be looked upon to point the way.  I do not believe that the current party in power, or their presumptive nominee who will maintain their course of action, will lead us to a better outcome.

I have spoken with many of you about the opportunity in front of us to elect Senator Barack Obama the next President of the United States.  In Senator Obama, I see a man who merits our active support.  To that end, I intended to write my own blog on this subject, to send to not only like-minded but other-minded people in an effort to get as many people as possible thinking about the state of our country and the world at large.  Well, while I was contemplating, my eldest son, Reynaldo Antonio, began his own blog (Spreading the Word - www.powerfulbeyondmeasure.wordpress.com).  So, we have decided to join forces.  He will write and occasionally I will comment and/or write.  We’ll send you new posting announcements every few days or so, or you can bookmark the page and check it when you have the opportunity.  If you are not interested, please just delete these messages when you get them.  If you are interested, please share the blog address and e-mails with your friends, family and colleagues, especially those who are undecided or even believe that Senator McCain deserves their vote.

I believe that each of us is called upon to participate in the current debates and presidential election cycle.  Having the privilege to vote and elect our government means having the responsibility to pay attention and participate in that process.  I know that you can get caught up (both literally and figuratively) if you check out the postings once a day or so.  Reynaldo keeps current with the candidates and the national coverage.  As Senator Obama said, “We are the ones We have been waiting for.
